Musical by Leslie Bricusse based on the stories by Hugh Lofting. Directed by Steven Pimlott. Lighting Design by Hugh Vanstone, Choreography by Aletta Collins, Design by Mark Thompson.

MBased on Leslie Bricusse's Oscar-winning film, this new stage musical Dr Dolittle had its world premiere here on 14 July 1998.

MLeslie Bricusse's previous work includes Stop the World - I Want to Get Off, Scrooge, Pickwick, Victor/Victoria and Jekyll and Hyde.

MDirector Steven Pimlott was nominated for an Olivier Award for the revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium. He has also worked with both the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Companies.

MDesigner Mark Thompson's previous stage work includes The Wind in the Willows and The Madness of King George III at the Royal National Theatre and the costumes for the film The Madness of King George.

MThey will be joined by Jim Henson's Creature Shop - the world-renowned team behind Animatronics, the art of bringing inanimate objects to life through the wonder of computer technology, cable control and hand puppetry. They are the innovative team behind numerous films including 101 Dalmations, The Flintstones and Babe. Doctor Dolittle will be the first live stage musical they have undertaken - a long-term goal and only now, due to the latest technology, is it possible to create a live-action Pushmi-Pullyu dancing on stage!
