Saban Theatre and Information
The Saban Theatre was previously known as Wilshire Theater and Fox Wilshire. It was premeditated by Architect Charles Lee. The art deco hall and lobby were bedecked in silver and black with coral draperies and chairs, a system attributed in the breach program to Fox West Coast broad administrator Harold B. Franklin. In addition to the most important organ, one of several paved up for Fox by Louis Maas and pipe maker Archie Marsh, the lobby for a time sported an Estey Minuette, a 2/3 portable organ worked into what seemed like a large grand piano case.
Renovated in 1981, the house is now a step venue. On Nov. 4, 1953, Marilyn Monroe was amid the luminaries who attended the first performance of “How To Marry A Millionaire,” also starring Lauren Bacall, at the theater.The theater unmoving brings gasps from initial time attendees dazed to find such a stunning art deco audience still reputation.
