UCLA Tennis Center History and Information
Located on the UCLA University grounds nestled immediately west of Pauley Pavilion and south of Drake Stadium is the inspiring Los Angeles Tennis Center - home to equally UCLA tennis teams. After playing 24 years on the Sunset Canyon Courts, the UCLA men's tennis team stirred its matches to LATC in 1985 and the women's team completed LATC its primary home facility in 1997. LATC provides a great place for televised matches.
Upon affecting to LATC, the Bruin men won 48 straight dual matches on their novel bench over three seasons sooner than trailing to Long Beach State in 1987. The Bruins' 14-year LATC record is 217-15 (.935). The Bruin men had a 53-match home win streak the greatest recorded at the LATC before a 5-2 loss to USC on April 3, 1991. The Bruins also held a 44 following dual match endearing strip before trailing to NCAA small fry Stanford on April 16, 1994.
The LATC, the primary large-scale outdoor tennis stadium opened in the Los Angeles city area, was officially devoted on May 20, 1984, just in time to host the 1984 NCAA Women's Tennis Championships and the 1984 Olympic Games tennis competition.
