Seminal jammers Phish will be on the road for its first summer tour in five years.

Publicist Ambrosia Healy just sent the word. "Yesterday the band resumed rehearsals, which began in November, in preparation for the upcoming shows," she writes.

Jamesville native Jon Fishman will join Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon and Page McConnell for a tour that starts June 4, the first of two dates at Nikon Theatre, at Jones Beach on Long Island. Other stops on the 10-date tour include Mansfield, Mass,; Camden , N.J. ; Ashville , N.C. ; St. Louis ; Burgettstown , Pa. ; Noblesville , Ind. ; and East Troy , Wisc.

Phish will play March 6, 7 and 8 in Hampton , Va. , first. Those tickets sold out in seconds, Healy says. Those are the first Phish shows since the band played the Coventry Festival in Vermont in August 2004.

On March 3, seven-DVD set "The Clifford Ball" will come out in JEMP Records/Rhino.

Phish has been in rehearsals for the reunion since November, following a summer that found the band busy dealing with comeback rumors that had spread among fans. Although the group members neither confirmed nor denied the rumors, keyboardist Paige McConnell issued an official statement on behalf of the band in June that seemed to point the way toward an eventual reunion of some sort.
